Kamen Rider Fourze: Summary: Youthful Transformation

Episode 1 of Kamen Rider Fourze, titled “Youthful Transformation”, introduces Gentaro Kisaragi, an eccentric transfer student with a bad-boy pompadour hairstyle who arrives at Amanogawa High School with the ambitious goal of befriending everyone he meets. On his very first day, he aggressively attempts to forge bonds with various school cliques, including the popular jocks and the school queen bee. While his abrasive yet good-natured attitude quickly alienates the cynical, sickly loner Kengo Utahoshi, it leads to a joyful reunion with his childhood friend, a space enthusiast named Yuki Jojima.

The ordinary high school drama takes a dangerous turn when a student uses a mysterious device called an Astroswitch to transform into a monstrous being known as the Orion Zodiarts. As the monster begins terrorizing the school campus, the cowardly football team flees, leaving Gentaro to step in and bravely fight the creature with his bare hands. Kengo tries to manage the threat by piloting a heavy, robotic exo-suit called the Powerdizer, but his weak physical health swiftly takes a toll, forcing him and Yuki to retreat through a secret gateway inside a school locker.

Driven by his protective instincts, Gentaro secretly follows Kengo and Yuki through the portal, shockingly discovering that the locker teleports them to the Rabbit Hatch, an abandoned space station located directly on the surface of the moon. Inside the base, Kengo prepares to use a powerful belt mechanism called the Fourze Driver to stop the monster. Recognizing that Kengo’s fragile body cannot withstand the intense physical strain of the transformation, Gentaro boldly snatches the belt away, asserting that he will take on the burden of fighting to protect the school.

Returning to the school grounds where the Orion Zodiarts is actively resuming its destructive rampage, a clueless Gentaro straps on the belt under Yuki’s frantic guidance. By activating the core Astroswitches, he successfully transforms into Kamen Rider Fourze, the space-themed superhero. Embracing his bizarre new form, Fourze engages the monster in a chaotic battle, utilizing a rocket-powered arm module to blast the Zodiarts out of the building and setting the stage for his cosmic crusade to save his classmates.
