Lanterns: Review: Light’s Out

Episode 5 of Lanterns completely flipped the script, and honestly, the drama is getting intense. The biggest shocker has to be Hal. Seeing him completely corrupt changes everything we thought we knew about his character. It leaves a massive power vacuum because right now, the ring has no owner, and the green energy is just up for grabs. On top of that, John is clearly in a tough spot and needs major guidance to navigate this absolute mess.

The action in this episode was wild, especially that brutal showdown between the main two. John and Hal went at it, throwing heavy hands, but in the end, John straight up beat up Hal and won the fight. It was a crazy moment that also showed some serious supernatural elements, like when the Sheriff lost a pinky and Zoe just casually grew it back. It really emphasized the insane, unpredictable power dynamic we are dealing with now.

But things are looking incredibly dark for the bigger picture. Now that Zoe the Manhunter is dead and Rushville is completely destroyed, the entire mission is thrown into chaos. Everything they were working toward has been leveled, and the stakes just shot through the roof.So the real question is, what’s next?

With Hal down, the town gone, and the main threat eliminated, who is even going to wield the ring now? The whole universe is reset, and the next episode has a lot of answering to do.
